Nursing College Admission Procedure

M.Sc. Nursing ( 2 years )


Selection Criteria
  • The candidate should be a registered nurse and registered midwife or equivalent with any state nursing council.
  • The minimum education requirements shall be passing of B.Sc. Nursing/ B.Sc. Hons./Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum 55% aggregate marks in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
  • Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
  • Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
  • Candidate shall be medically fit.
Note: The candidates qualifying Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing form IGNOU through distance education is not eligible for M.Sc. (N) Programme, if the study center are not recognized by INC.

Entrance/ Selection Test: Selection of the candidate should be based on the merit of the entrance examination held by university or competent authority.


Basic B.Sc. Nursing (4 years)


Selection Criteria
  • The minimum age for admission shall be 17 st years on or before 31 December of the year of admission.
  • The minimum educational requirement shall be the passing of:
    Higher Secondary school certificate examination (12 years course)
    Or
    Senior School Certificate examination (10+2).
    Or
    An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English) with minimum of 45% aggregate marks PCBE.
  • Candidate shall be medically fit.
Entrance/ Selection Test: Selection of the candidate should be based on the merit of the entrance examination held by university or competent authority.


Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (2 years)


Selection Criteria
  • Passed the higher secondary or senior secondary or intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the university.
  • Obtained a certificate in General Nursing Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the state nurse's registration council. A male nurse, trained before the implementations of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with state nurses registration council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas:
    - O.T. Technique
    - Ophthalmic Nursing
    - Leprosy Nursing
    - TB Nursing
    - Psychiatric Nursing
    - Neurological and Neuro surgical Nursing
    - Community Health Nursing
    - Cancer Nursing
    - Orthopedic Nursing
  • Candidate shall be medically fit.
Entrance/ Selection Test: Selection of the candidate should be based on the merit of the entrance examination held by university or competent authority.


GNM (3 year)


Selection Criteria
  • Minimum age for admission will be 17 years (as on 31st December of that year). The upper age limit is 35 years for ANM/For, LHV, there is no age bar.
  • Minimum education, 10+2 class with 40% aggregate Marks.
  • 10+2 vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
  • ANM training (i.e.) 10+1½ years training should also have +2 or its equivalent examination.
  • Admission of students shall be once in a year.
  • Students shall be medically fit.
Entrance/ Selection Test: Selection of the candidate should be based on the merit of the entrance examination held by university or competent authority.


ANM (2 year)


Selection Criteria
  • The minimum age for admission shall be 17 year on or before 31st December of the year ofadmission. The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
  • The minimum educational requirements shall be 10+2 class pass.: Senior Secondary school th certificate examination, 12 class or central board secondary education or a recognized equivalent public examination. Subjects of study must be equivalent to those prescribed by the CBSE for the class XII with pass marks.
  • Students shall be medically fit.
Entrance/ Selection Test: Selection of the candidate should be based on the merit of the entrance examination held by university or competent authority.


Remarks :
  • Days Scholars are not allowed for any nursing programme, only one or two students on the discretion of principal will be allowed.
  • Marriage candidates are eligible for admission for any nursing programme.


Verification of documents


The copies of the required certificate should be attached with the application form for verification and the original ones have to be submitted to the office of the Principal, College of Nursing after provisional admission. A receipt is obtained for the same which will have to be produced at the time of completion of the course for procuring these certificates back.

No extension of date and time will be granted when called for admission or verification of certificates.


Medical Examination


Medical examination of the selected candidates will be conducted by the medical board of SGRRIM&HS.
ANY CANDIDATE FOUND MEDICALLY UNFIT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO JOIN AND CONTINUE THE NURSING PROGRAMME.


Cancellation of Admission


The admission of students who pay academic fee but fail to join the Institute /College within the specified time mentioned in the provisional admission letter is liable to be cancelled. On withdrawal of admission, the fees already paid shall be forfeited. Only security deposit is refundable.
